Kito Writer · Privacy

Your writing stays on your Mac.

This policy explains what Kito Writer handles, what stays local, and what happens if you contact support.

Effective: July 19, 2026

The short version

Kito Writer does not require an account and does not include analytics, advertising, or tracking. Your Markdown documents stay on your Mac unless you choose to share or upload them somewhere else.

Documents and local data

Kito Writer opens and saves the Markdown files you choose. It may also store app settings, recent-document information, and recovery data on your Mac using standard macOS features.

Kito Studio cannot see or access your documents, local images, app settings, or recovery data. You control these files through Kito Writer, Finder, and macOS.

Links and online content

A Markdown document can contain links or images hosted on the web. If you open a link or display online content, your Mac may connect to that website. The website may receive technical request information, such as your IP address, under its own privacy policy.

Kito Writer does not send the text of your document to Kito Studio, an AI service, or an analytics service.

Support messages

If you contact Kito Studio, we receive the information you choose to send. This can include your email address, app and macOS versions, screenshots, sample files, and your description of the problem.

We use this information only to answer your request, troubleshoot the issue, protect the service, and improve Kito Writer. Please do not send a private document unless it is necessary for your support request.

Sharing and service providers

Kito Studio does not sell personal information and does not share it for advertising or tracking. We may use service providers for website hosting and email delivery. They may process the limited information needed to provide those services and must protect it consistently with this policy and applicable law.

We may disclose information if required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, Kito Studio, or the public.

Retention and deletion

Documents and app data stored on your Mac remain under your control. You can delete them at any time using Kito Writer, Finder, or macOS.

We keep support messages only as long as needed to respond, troubleshoot, maintain a reasonable support history, meet legal obligations, and protect against abuse. You can ask us to delete a support message. We will delete it unless we need to keep it for a legal or security reason.

Your choices

Kito Writer has no account to close and no tracking consent to withdraw. You choose which files the app opens, which online links or images it loads, and what information you include in a support message.

To request access to or deletion of information you sent to support, email [email protected].

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Kito Writer changes or when legal requirements change. The date at the top of this page shows the latest revision.
